One can claim a 100% reduction in the tax for the period after the owner died on such homes but it may become due once again when someone moves in or if the property is passed to someone else. The reduction can be offered for homes where nobody lives and the owner stays elsewhere in care or those owned by a full-time student living somewhere else.  Those detained or imprisoned or facing mental health issues or bankruptcy may get a 100% reduction.
